Adetola Adunni Abubakar Returns from Lagos State Onboarding Ready to Deliver a New Era for Agboyi-Ketu*

It’s been only days since she took the oath of office, but Honourable Adetola Adunni Abubakar, Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, is proving that leadership for her is not about settling into an office — it’s about getting to work.

Fresh from the Onboarding Program for Newly Elected Local Government and LCDA Chairmen in Lagos State, themed “Driving Grassroots Development through Strategic Governance”, Hon. Adetola says she is more determined than ever to make her promises to the people a reality.

“This onboarding has reinforced my belief that leadership at the grassroots is where real change begins. Every training session, every discussion, every shared experience has sharpened my resolve to serve with focus, integrity, and results,” she said with conviction.

The program, which brought together newly elected council chairmen across the state, focused on practical governance strategies — from understanding the structure and operations of the Lagos State system, to mastering modern leadership, management, and problem-solving skills.

For Hon. Adetola, it was a timely and eye-opening experience.

“We didn’t come here to hold titles. We came to deliver value — ward by ward, street by street, home by home. My 8-Point Agenda will be implemented to the very letter, and every resident will feel the impact.”

Her 8-Point Agenda remains the heartbeat of her administration:

Infrastructural & Grassroots Economic Development

Youth & Women Empowerment

Education

Accessible & Quality Healthcare

Food Security & Social Welfare

Job Creation: Local Employability

Digital & Inclusive Governance

Security & Civic Engagement

She also assured that her post-inauguration engagement process is ongoing — with plans to continue touring communities, meeting stakeholders, and hearing directly from residents about their most pressing needs.

“We promised to hit the ground running — and we are running. This is the beginning of an era of inclusive leadership, where no one is left behind and every voice matters.”

For the people of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, the message is clear: their Chairman has not just returned from onboarding with fresh knowledge — she has returned with renewed fire. And that fire is already lighting the path towards a brighter, more united, and more prosperous Agboyi-Ketu.
