Leadership in Motion: Hon. Adetola Adunni Abubakar Hits the Ground Running in Agboyi-Ketu

Leadership in Motion: Hon. Adetola Adunni Abubakar Hits the Ground Running in Agboyi-Ketu*

Barely a week into office, Honourable Adetola Adunni Abubakar, the newly sworn-in Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA is proving that public office is not a title, but a call to service.

With sincerity in her voice and determination in her steps, she has embarked on her first official tour of key facilities in the LCDA not just as a leader checking boxes, but as a daughter of the soil reconnecting with the heartbeats of her people.

First Stop: Where the Future Begins

Our Schools
Her journey began in the classrooms, the very place where tomorrow’s leaders are being nurtured. At Irepodun Primary School, Alapere Nursery & Primary School, and Arowosegbe Nursery & Primary School, Hon. Adetola sat with headmistresses, listened intently, walked through aging corridors, and saw firsthand the needs broken windows, inadequate classrooms, worn-out desks, and overstretched teachers.

“These are not just buildings. They’re dreams in progress,” she said, compassion laced in every word. “Our children deserve more. And this administration will give them more with urgency and sincerity.”

Healthcare That Heals Not Just on Paper
From education, she moved to health. At the Mascara Primary Healthcare Centre, the Executive Chairman didn’t just inspect she engaged. She spoke with nurses, observed the layout of the ongoing construction work, and noted the system’s limitations.

The message was clear: health must be accessible, functional, and dignified.

“Healthcare is a right, not a privilege. I will ensure this center and others across the LCDA become spaces where our people can walk in with hope and walk out with healing,” she affirmed.

*Next Stop: The Tech Hub*
Empowering the Future
Her tour also led her to the Agboyi-Ketu Tech Hub, a hub for innovation, skills acquisition, and youth empowerment. As she walked through its halls, interacting with staff and reviewing operations, her face lit up with possibility.

“This hub must do more than exist. It must work. It must change lives,” she said.

With digital inclusion a priority on her 8-point agenda, Hon. Adetola’s visit signals a government ready to bridge the gap between today’s needs and tomorrow’s potential.

A Chairman With A Promise, And A Plan
Her presence in these communities isn’t ceremonial, it is intentional. Every stop she made, every story she heard, every child she smiled at was a reaffirmation of the promise she made during her campaign: to hit the ground running.

And she has.

With her 8-Point Agenda, Hon. Adetola is focused on:

Infrastructural & Grassroots Economic Development

Youth & Women Empowerment

Education

Accessible & Quality Healthcare

Food Security & Social Welfare

Job Creation: Local Employability

Digital & Inclusive Governance

Security & Civic Engagement

These aren’t just campaign words. They’re a blueprint for action, and action has already begun.

*The People React:* “Hope is Alive”
In the words of a teacher at Irepodun:

“She didn’t just come to talk, she came to listen. She came to see. And that means the world to us.”

And truly, it does. In a world where leadership often feels distant, Hon. Adetola Adunni Abubakar is rewriting the narrative. She’s not just sitting behind a desk. She’s in the streets, in the classrooms, in the clinics where the people are.

Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Your Chairman Has Started Work
This is what it looks like when leadership meets action. This is what it means when a servant-leader says, “Let’s get to work.”

Agboyi-Ketu, the journey has begun, and it’s filled with hope, inclusion, and action.
