Massive Turnout in Kosofe as Youths Hold Solidarity Walk for Ogbara, Asiwaju Continuity

Kosofe Federal Constituency witnessed a remarkable show of solidarity on June 13, 2026, as thousands of youths and residents poured into the streets to mark the three-year anniversary of Hon. Kafilat Ogbara’s service in the House of Representatives.

Organized in less than 12 hours by youth groups, women, and party faithful across Kosofe, Ikosi-Isheri, and Agboyi-Ketu, the walk celebrated Ogbara’s achievements while reaffirming support for continuity in representation under the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Chanting songs of unity and carrying banners that read “Kosofe Unites for Ogbara and Asiwaju”, the crowd moved peacefully across several neighborhoods. For many residents, the turnout was a visible reminder of Ogbara’s grassroots connection. “She has been accessible to us, she listens,” said Mrs. Adeola, a trader in Ikosi. “That is why people came out without hesitation.”

The walk also highlighted the projects Ogbara has delivered in Kosofe. These include construction of the first secondary school in Agboyi-Ketu, a primary school in Maidan, two ICT centres in Kosofe, grading of roads, and the distribution of laptops to support youth education. She has also facilitated an elderly home in Isheri, provided boreholes and streetlights to improve community living, and offered grants and empowerment programs that have directly benefited over 1,000 constituents and so much more. For many participants, these tangible achievements were the reason they turned out in such numbers; a celebration not just of her tenure, but of visible progress in their daily lives.

Comrade Ahmad Adebayo, a youth leader, described the rally as proof of Ogbara’s mandate. “They tried to create confusion online, but it took the real people of Kosofe just hours to clear all doubts,” he said. “We gathered and planned this ourselves, not only to celebrate three years of empowerment and infrastructure, but to tell the APC National Secretariat that the grassroots will accept nothing less than continuity.”

Beyond local politics, the rally carried a patriotic tone. Participants voiced resilience against insecurity and pledged support for national unity under President Tinubu.

Stakeholders and party elders praised the peaceful conduct of the youths, reminding the crowd that under APC guidelines, only the National Secretariat in Abuja has the authority to ratify candidates; a decision the constituency awaits with calm confidence.

Political observers note that the short-notice mobilization has shifted the conversation from a disputed primary to a visible public endorsement. With the streets of Kosofe speaking in one voice, calls for Hon. Kafilat Ogbara’s continuity have gained momentum that will be difficult to ignore.
