In the wake of the painful demolitions that have displaced many families in Oworonshoki (Oworo), Lagos. The Member representing Kosofe Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Kafilat Ogbara, has expressed her heartfelt sympathy and solidarity with all affected residents.

Hon. Ogbara, popularly known as “Mama Kosofe” for her consistent love and care for the people, described the demolition as “a human tragedy that touches the very soul of our community.”

“My heart goes out to every mother, father, and child whose home has been reduced to rubbles. I understand the pain of watching your shelter, your memories, and your source of stability wiped away in a moment. Please know that you are not alone. As your Representative, I feel your pain deeply, and I stand with you in this difficult time,” she said.

While currently on an official assignment outside Nigeria, Hon. Ogbara assured that she is in touch with developments back home and is already reaching out to relevant State authorities to seek immediate intervention measures for affected families.

She emphasized that Governance must never lose its human face and pledged to engage with the Lagos State Government to ensure that the welfare and dignity of residents remain a priority in resolving the situation.

“This should not just be about demolitions, irrespective of the undelinning reasons, it should be about human dignity, protecting livelihoods, and about restoring Hope. Though I am presently out of the Country, I am abreast of events and I assure you that I will use every medium within my reach to bring succour to our People in Oworo,” Hon. Ogbara added.

The Lawmaker also called on community members to remain calm and resilient as she works with stakeholders to ensure fair redress and practical interventions.

Hon. Kafilat Ogbara reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to being a voice for the vulnerable, a defender of justice, and a servant-leader for all of Kosofe Federal Constituency.
