_21st October 2026_
“I was delighted to receive Dr. Adedayo Benjamin-Laniyi, the newly appointed Director-General of the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development, Abuja, in my office.

Having known Adedayo for over 15 years, it was particularly heartwarming to engage with her in this new capacity. Our longstanding acquaintance makes this moment especially meaningful, and I look forward to continued engagement and collaboration in advancing women’s empowerment, institutional development, and inclusive growth.

I also fondly acknowledge the immediate past Director-General, Asabe Vilitta Bashir with whom I enjoyed a fantastic relationship built on mutual respect, goodwill, and shared commitment to the advancement of women. I deeply value the relationship we shared and the spirit of collaboration that characterised our engagement.

As we welcome this new chapter at the Centre, I remain convinced that purposeful partnerships, continuity, and sustained engagement are essential to creating meaningful opportunities for women and strengthening their contributions to national development.

I warmly welcome Adedayo to this important responsibility and wish her a successful and impactful tenure.“
